Chilliwack Patio Season 2026: A Very Doable District 1881 Patio Craw

Patio season in Chilliwack doesn’t exactly sneak up on anyone. The sun comes out, and suddenly every plan involves sitting outside for longer than intended. Coffee turns into brunch. One drink turns into a few. No one’s in a rush.

Instead of picking just one spot, this is your excuse to work through the District properly. Not all in one day. But over a few sunny weekends, this is a pretty solid way to hit the best Chilliwack patios without overthinking it.

9:00 a.m.
Smoking Gun Coffee Roasters, Start Slow

Start simple. Good coffee, a bit of sun and nowhere else to be yet. Smoking Gun’s patio makes it easy to ease into the day without trying too hard. Grab your usual, maybe something baked if you’re feeling ambitious, and settle in while the District wakes up around you. If you’ve got kids along, there’s a nearby outdoor animal play feature that tends to buy you a few extra quiet minutes, which is always a win.

Bow and Stern, Settle In for Lunch

Bow and Stern is an easy choice when you want lunch to feel a little more put together without losing that relaxed patio vibe. Seafood is the focus, with plenty of fresh options that pair well with something cold to drink. It’s the kind of place where you sit down thinking you’ll be quick, then decide there’s no reason to rush.

Take a Walk Through the District

At this point, a short walk is a good idea. District 1881 is made for it. Check out the murals, look for the history QR codes or just wander for a bit. It breaks things up and makes the next stop feel like a fresh start.

Hugo’s Mexican Kitchen, Pick the Energy Back Up

Hugo’s brings things back up a notch. The patio is lively, the food is bold and everything is built for sharing, even if you don’t. Tacos, margaritas and a steady buzz make it very easy to stay longer than planned. It’s fun, it’s social and it hits right in that mid-afternoon window when you’re not quite done yet.

Azzurri Italian Pasticceria, Something Sweet

Azzurri is your reset. Grab a gelato or a pastry, find a spot nearby and take a breather. It’s quick, it’s satisfying and it gives you just enough of a second wind to keep going.

Field House Brewing Co., Stay for a While

Field House is where people tend to linger. The patio opens up, the light gets better and it’s very easy to lose track of time. The beer list has enough variety to try something new, and the overall vibe makes it a natural spot to settle in for a bit before dinner.

Dinner, You Know What You Want Now

By now, you’ve got a favourite. Go back to Bow and Stern for something a little more relaxed and polished, or head to Hugo’s if you’re still in the mood for something lively. Either way, you’re not guessing anymore.

9:30 p.m.
Fortitude Wine Bar, Wind It Down

Finish at Fortitude, where things slow down in the best way. The patio is smaller, quieter and built for sitting back with a glass of wine and actually staying put. It’s an easy, low-key way to end the night.

You probably won’t do all of this in one go, and that’s the point. This is more of a running list than a strict plan. Pick a few stops, come back for the rest and let patio season stretch out a bit.
