As the sun rises over the streets of District 1881, the sound of engines hums softly against the brick-lined sidewalks. Chrome glistens beneath the early morning light, and the air smells faintly of coffee and rubber. This is Cars & Coffee, a laid-back celebration of vintage vehicles and community spirit that takes over downtown Chilliwack every Saturday from 7 to 10 am, rain or shine, until the end of October.
There’s no velvet rope, no entry fee, no formal sign-up. Just show up with your classic car, slide into a marked parking spot, and become part of a scene that feels pulled straight from Fast and the Furious. Visitors stroll through rows of gleaming bumpers and retro interiors, pausing to chat with proud owners about custom upholstery or where they managed to source that elusive carburetor.
The mood is unhurried and joyful. Kids point out their favorite colours while long-time collectors bond over shared memories of weekend drives and road trip mishaps. Somewhere nearby, the scent of sizzling bacon drifts from Uptown Grill, where the booths fill up early with regulars and first-timers alike. Just across the way, Smoking Gun Coffee serves up strong pours and lattes with intricate foam art, perfect for sipping as you admire a ‘67 Mustang or a lovingly restored Volkswagen bus.

More than just a car show, this gathering has become a ritual for locals and visitors. It’s a place to connect, swap stories, and share in the charm of the classics. Whether you drive one or just dream of it, all are welcome.
Bring a friend, bring a thermos, bring your wheels.
